Hosea 4:8-12

New International Version

⁸ They feed on the sins of my people
    and relish their wickedness.^(A)
9 And it will be: Like people, like priests.^(B)
    I will punish both of them for their ways
    and repay them for their deeds.^(C)

¹⁰ “They will eat but not have enough;^(D)
    they will engage in prostitution^(E) but not flourish,
because they have deserted^(F) the Lord
    to give themselves ¹¹ to prostitution;^(G)
old wine^(H) and new wine
    take away their understanding.^(I)
12 My people consult a wooden idol,^(J)
    and a diviner’s rod speaks to them.^(K)
A spirit of prostitution^(L) leads them astray;^(M)
    they are unfaithful^(N) to their God.
